At Cordes & Company, our financial and management professionals provide prompt and expert support for businesses in transition, litigation and distress – as well as their local and national lenders. Edward B. Cordes is the founder and a managing director of the firm.
Using his broad based experience, he is often called upon to assess business condition and assist in the foundation of a strategy to resolve financial and management issues in both financially stressed and quarreling partner situations.
For 35 years, Ed has provided forensic accounting, economic damage determinations, restructuring strategies, and business valuation services in loan workouts, bankruptcies, insurance claim disputes, and civil and marital litigation.
Over the course of his career, Ed has been appointed as trustee or receiver in well over 200 court actions. He reviews and contributes his expertise to each representation that the firm accepts. He serves as an expert witness in court and arbitration proceedings.
Before founding Cordes & Company in 1983, Ed was a manager within the private business advisory group of national accounting giant Ernst & Young. He also worked at Cooperative Service Company, where he gained a special depth of experience within the agriculture business sector. He is the product of an agricultural family and community and he operates a farm in eastern Colorado.
Ed has served on the board of Guaranty Bancorp, a publicly held Denver based bank holding company, since 2004, previously chairing the audit committee and now serving as Chairman of the board and of the risk committee.
