MacKenzie Place is a continuing care retirement community in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This CCRC includes an independent-living cottage home component consisting of about 250 individually owned units – ranging in price from $300,000 to $500,000 -- governed by a condominium association. When this CCRC (along with its sister facility in Fort Collins) ran into financial difficulty, the court appointed Cordes & Company as receiver. Cordes brought financial solvency to the condominium association, completed partially constructed units, oversaw the marketing and sale of unsold units, and managed the sale of remaining parcels to a new owner who was able to continue development. With Cordes’ assistance, MacKenzie Place continues to serve the seniors of Colorado Springs.
