MacKenzie Place is a continuing care retirement community in Fort Collins, Colorado. This CCRC includes an independent-living cottage component consisting of about 300 individually owned units – ranging in price from $300,000 to $500,000 -- governed by a condominium association. When this CCRC (along with its sister facility in Colorado Springs) ran into financial difficulty, the court appointed Cordes & Company as receiver. Cordes brought financial solvency to the association, completed partially constructed units, oversaw the marketing and sales of unsold units, and managed the sale of remaining parcels to a new owner who was able to continue development. With Cordes’ assistance, MacKenzie Place continues to serve the seniors of Fort Collins.
