A Colorado limited liability company owns intellectual property consisting of five patents and three patent applications for a specialized mill that is claimed to break down materials using a process known as resonance disintegration. The company also owns two mills, which it leases to third parties under licensing, research and development agreements. When the company initiated litigation against one of its members for fraudulently conveying title to the patents to a third party, the Jefferson County District Court named Cordes & Company as receiver for these intellectual property assets. Cordes found a buyer.
