When a bank started the foreclosure process the developer of a 600-acre golf community located in Colorado, it had Cordes & Company appointed as receiver to care for and operate the development (including management of the golf course, recreation center, and homeowners association) and assist the bank and marketing efforts. The developer filed for bankruptcy protection and fought with the bank for almost one year. Nevertheless, under Cordes & Company's management, homeowner concerns were addressed, neglected facilities were repaired and maintained, and use of the 18-hole golf course increased 20 percent.
