When a Colorado couple was divorcing, the wife had concerns about dissipation of assets in the family business, which was jointly owned but run by her husband. The business provides hauling and roustabout services for a major company in the oil and gas industry, with 70 employees and gross revenues of $12 million. The court named Cordes & Company receiver for the company to manage financial assets until the divorce could be finalized. Cordes created electronic accounting records from bank statements, developed internal processes, audited invoices from contractor through to customer invoices, and dealt with past-due payroll deposits, vendor bills, and income taxes.
