The partners in a personal injury law firm were involved in a messy partner dispute that involved allegations of drug use and other improprieties. The Arapahoe County District Court appointed Cordes & Company as receiver to run the firm in an orderly fashion until it could be dissolved. Cordes re-assigned all active cases to partners at the firm or to other law firms, collected attorney fees and, in some cases, handled the distribution of settlements to clients. In addition, Cordes negotiated settlements for costs and attorney fees for the work done by the law firm while it was in receivership.
