In a contentious divorce, the marital residence was to be fixed up and sold. Complicating matters, the wife was still living in the residence and had very strong opinions about what improvements to make and what the property was worth. Additional complications included limited funds for the fix-up and an economic downturn that made it difficult to find qualified buyers willing to pay a reasonable price. The Summit County District Court appointed Cordes & Company as receiver to facilitate the process, which involved numerous issues and Court hearings involving the receiver, the ex-wife and counsel for the ex-husband. Eventually, Cordes had to evict the wife and move all of her belongings to storage. The property was then sold and final resolution achieved.
