Mounting economic, administrative and philosophical burdens drove a wedge between two physicians in a shared pediatric medical practice. In lawsuits, each doctor alleged misdeeds by the other. In addition, parts of the practice faced mounting debts owed to vendors and a local bank. The Arapahoe County District Court appointed Cordes & Company as receiver for the practice until the legal matters could be resolved. Medical practice assets included receivables, equipment and real estate. Cordes was able to establish control over a heated work environment, work out a plan to pay back the bank, investigate and resolve the legal allegations, work with the attorneys to craft an amicable settlement and dissolve the practice, and create appropriate plans for the doctors to satisfy their creditors.
