This case involved a dispute between two owners regarding a struggling window and door distributor. The Douglas County District Court appointed Cordes & Company as receiver to preserve and protect the remaining assets of this retailer and wholesaler for the benefit of the stakeholders. At the time of the appointment, the company was essentially non-operational due to significant financial issues. Cordes performed a quick review of the situation, including an analysis of the financial circumstances, and determined that a rapid and orderly liquidation of the remaining assets was in order. Cordes worked with one of the owners to collect the receivables, sell the inventory and liquidate the personal property in order to maximize the cash available to satisfy the company’s creditors, including the bank. During the course of the engagement, Cordes also dealt with some personnel, vendor, and landlord issues.
