Two joint venture partners in the uranium mining and marketing industry were involved in litigation in the U.S. District Court for the State of Colorado. Cordes & Company was retained as a special accountant by a Special Master in this Federal District Court case. Cordes’ task was to provide the Special Master and the parties with an independent accounting of revenues and the associated costs of fulfilling several foreign and domestic contracts involving several million pounds of uranium. As special accountant, Cordes had quick and direct access to the accounting and financial records of both parties, as well as direct access to their personnel. In spite of the fact that information was sourced from multiple locations in Wyoming, Connecticut and Germany, Cordes provided the Court and the parties with a thorough, accurate, timely, cost-effective and neutral accounting of the economic activity of the joint venture.
