Two prominent sports agents who parted ways after many years were engaged in a lawsuit regarding a number of allegations, including, but not limited to, non-payment of professional fees, misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duties. The City and County of Denver appointed Cordes & Company receiver with respect to the collection of certain agent fees, and ruled that one of agents deposited a substantial amount of money into the receivership. Cordes developed and provided accurate financial and other information, negotiated an extension of an expiring bank loan, took control of collections and administrated the affairs of the litigation. Cordes and a mediator helped to engineer a settlement of the matters and constructed a financial plan for the future. The parties settled, with Cordes administering the financial aspects of the settlement.
